If you change a car, they won't refund the right amount for your previous car insurance

1
Hi, I have been a client for 2 years. I changed car and I had 2 car with them for 2 weeks. They don't want to send me details of the refund as their calculation is inaccurate. Reviewed on: 17th July 2023

Worst Insurance company.

1
Recently I renewed my insurance with admiral. 3 times they messed up my payments and took out the annual fee rather than monthly fee. Each time I phoned to complain and get my money back I was met with resistance until finally a manager sorted it and apologised. The third time this happened they cancelled my insurance without my knowledge. Eventually I did have a very helpful employee who got me a new policy and sorted it all out but it’s been 3 months of faff Reviewed on: 14th July 2023

Admiral is not covering the passed MOT engine blowed by tester when cheking incorrectly our car

1
We are so disapointed by Admiral Ensurance. They are playing with customers constanly. First they haven't accepted our claim, then someone from Admiral called and emailed us they will cover our damage in garage fully and now again when we called them are saying they are not going to cover our damage done by the garage! - Not covering for an engine if it blows up by tester fault in the garage - MOT was passed! You are left alone by them. Poor people and who ever uses their insurance for car or what ever you insure with them. They do not cover engine as mashine blowed up...but this is the most important thing in the car why this is not covered. Reviewed on: 14th July 2023

Increased my payments when I only enquired re claim

2
My car was damaged last year and I called Admiral to ask about the process and what I should do. In the end I decided to settle with the other party, but Admiral bumped my monthly payments up. I asked them why and they said it was based on the ‘potential claim’ even though I had already called them and told them to cancel this as I wouldn’t be pursuing it. Left them right away. Managed to negotiate a new deal for me and my wife’s car insurance, adding it to a multi cover with the house insurance. Only took one phone call! Reviewed on: 13th July 2023

Extremely unsatisfactory claims handling

1
My parked and unattended vehicle was hit by a DPD driver - so a non-fault incident. Admiral were very professional and helpful with the immediate recovery of the vehicle. However it then took them 6 weeks to arrange for the vehicle to be moved from storage to accident repair. During this time I couldn't get hold of them, they provided me with no updates and I was left trying to sort out everything - getting the vehicle collected from storage by a recovery company, having it delivered to the repair garage, speaking to all the parties involved. All of Admiral's actions and inaction exacerbated the claim - the long 6 week delay meant the vehicle incurred additional damage externally in storage, and the interior went mouldy. Once at the repair garage it took them further weeks to authorise for work to commence and then additional weeks for them to then change their mind on previous decisions and have the additional damage rectified. In total it took 6 months and 2 weeks for my vehicle to be repaired and returned to me. This exceptionally long time was entirely due to Admirals lack of action, indecision, delay, and exacerbation of claim. I am now faced with a heightened renewal premium because the size of the claim (although non-fault) is very large because of the extended period (e.g. courtesy car costs) which is entirely due to Admiral negligence. Car insurance claim

Having recently been involved in a non fault collision where the third party did not stop and my car was written off I cannot recommend Admiral enough for the way my claim was dealt with. The service was quick and efficiient and on the day I was informed my car was a written off, after explaining I needed to replace my car quickly as I work for NHS and use my car for work a settlement figure was agreed on the phone the same day, two days later the sum was in my account. A very fair settlement figure was offered. Everyone I spoke to, an Alex who agreed settlement, a Trish and Victoria were extremely helpful, polite and professional. After the unpleasant and inconvenient experience of being involved in a non stop incident Admiral made the whole situation a lot easier to deal with. I have insured my replacement car with them which has remained a competitive price. Only niggle was when I couldn't find answer to my queries online it was a difficult process to get through to speak to a rep on the phone at times, but did manage it, feel this is the case with many larger organisations these days. Unethical renewal

1
Impossible company to ever deal with. From year to year they decided to put my annual insurance up by 400 within 12 months and it is actually impossible to cancel your renewal. I have NOT has any accidents or claims and they still try this, thinking people don't keep track of their insurances. Once i figure out how to cancel my renewal, i will be seeking an alternative company - USwitch have quoted me a price of 475 pounds cheaper for the exact same cover! Reviewed on: 4th July 2023

Insurance renewal rip off

2
I had been with Admiral insurance for both car and house for in excess of seven years and I've always just auto renewed however this year their auto renew which I had to chase was more than 150 pounds more than a another company I challenge Admiral and they knocked off a very small fee however it did not match with the companies so I purchase insurance through the other companies and awaited to see if Admiral would auto renew they did so by taking the money four days after the renewal date I'll called at the early opportunity to explain that thier renewal figure had been to expensive and I had gone elsewhere they proceeded to tell me that day would cancel the renewed policy but would charge me. Ichallenge this on the basis that I don't agree with auto renewal their price was extortionate and as a custom of seven years I would expect a little bit more understanding given the cost of living crisis the first call ended up with the operator hanging upon me the second call was far far better I spoke to a female who listen to my problem and then agreed to refund the fully without the cancellation fee these insurance companies should not be able to charge cancellation fees when it's again an auto renewal policy as the customer hasn't asked for it and our automatically put into these auto renew course is generally without even knowing Admiral need to review these policy and be a little bit more sympathetic to their customers given the current financial climate Reviewed on: 26th June 2023

Price and service abysmal

1
The price has gone up by about 25% for the same car, another year no claims and another year driving. On top of the pricing being terrible you also get passed on through an obscene amount of different departments each knowing less than the one before if you ever call their customer “care”. They have been the insurance company from hell and I wouldn’t recommend. Reviewed on: 24th June 2023
