Review of the Admiral, Car insurance:

Straight forward, reliable

Renewal time is often the worst time, but Admiral have always been straight forward, friendly, competitive and reliable. Hope they stay that way, makes life much easier. Reviewed on: 13th August 2022

Dire service, disgusting treatment, delays and games...

Dire service, disgusting treatment, delays and games after purchasing Platinum (highest possible) policy with Admiral Insurance. I was hit while going round a roundabout on 7th December. The other driver admitted fault and liability at the scene and I submitted HD dashcam footage that was clear on the 8th. As I have an Audi (under warranty) and did not go with their preferred garage for repairs as I would lose my warranty if I did this, I opted informed them I needed an Audi dealership (where I had purchased the car). I was told as I did not use their garage I would not get a replacement vehicle and that I can use Auxcilus a partner company, I opted out of this as it would have meant dealing with a company that has hostile T&Cs and will try to make money out of your claim that are in no way owned or linked legally to Admiral Insurance. I spent 10 days of my life with around 2 hours a day trying to get feedback from them, I was told initially their engineers would take 3 days tore view the quote I submitted from Audi garage on 8th Dec, after a call every day until today (18th Dec) I now receive the info they have agreed the quote which only happened as i quoted that they had broken FCA IDOCS standards and would involve the Obudsmann. If you want to spend hours of your life, massive amounts of frustration, being placated by call services members that apologies but blatantly dont care about you or your claim and also purposely delay and disrupt the claims process then go with Admiral Insurance. I have used them for the past few years but will never use them again. Was now offered £100 to close the official complaint. All the time I have been without a car and not able to do anything or prepare anything for Christmas. Their response, hire one yourself and see if you can reclaim the costs from the other persons insurer...not sure what services they are providing here but it not taking care of their insured on a premium level policy. Assuming old Admiral teams that were good have been bought out and replaced by something that is DIRE. Reviewed on: 18th December 2025

The worst insurance company to deal with , when making a non fault claim. Happy to take your money on renewal , but that's it. This is a company that will send you from one person to another to discuss your claim, then a big sorry to say they cannot help you , as it's not in their script. However no managers or anyone with authority to talk to , as they cannot be approached. They even forgot that my car was in storage with them , yet I was receiving emails to say that the car is being repaired. IT's been over two weeks and a grand total of 16 hours on the phone with them and still NOTHING. Reviewed on: 11th November 2025

Absolutely Disgraceful

1
Absolutely Disgraceful Experience Absolutely Disgraceful Experience – Insult Added to Injury My car was written off after someone failed to stop at a crossroads. The other driver admitted full liability, so this should have been a straightforward claim. Instead, it’s turned into a complete nightmare. The insurance company’s offer for my vehicle is 25% less than what I paid for it in May this year, despite me having spent over £1,000 improving it since purchase. Their “justification” for the valuation was laughable — they compared my immaculate, well-maintained car to a damaged example with no leather interior, visible corrosion, multiple MOT advisories, and bodywork issues. I supplied every piece of evidence imaginable: photos, service history, receipts, comparable adverts — and their response was simply, “We’re sticking with our valuation.” No explanation, no logic, no fairness. Their only advice was to “go to the ombudsman.” I now find myself unable to replace my car with anything close to what I had. It’s financially crippling and deeply unfair, especially when the accident was entirely not my fault. To make matters worse, the representative I dealt with — Michael, from the Total Loss department — showed zero empathy or professionalism. His tone was cold, dismissive, and almost smug, as if he took pleasure in delivering such devastating news. He should be ashamed of the way he treats people. The whole experience has been utterly disgusting and is significantly impacting my mental health. If this company had even an ounce of integrity or compassion, they’d recognise the human impact of their actions. Instead, they’ve added insult to injury — both financially and emotionally. Be sure to agree a value for your car before insuring or you will be ripped off in a claim situation, regardless of it not being your fault. Reviewed on: 10th November 2025

They are thieves!

1
They are thieves! They are the number one fraudsters of UKs insurance companies that are bad. They lie, their policies are inconsistent and their insurance policies are very expensive, yet ineffective in most cases. We got a black box from them, installed it well and correctly, only for us to get a mail that the blackbox needs to be return as it was not reading estimates even though it was reading from day 1 without any interference or removal. The increased price all of a sudden!!!! There are better ways that you can lie to unexpectedly and unnecessarily increase monthly price than to lie that what is working is not working after 2months without any touch. Admiral is a terrible and fraudulent insurance company. Runaway as you will surely regret their pricy and rubbish policies that are deceptive. Reviewed on: 7th November 2025

Avoid Admiral! Terrible!

1
Avoid Admiral! After 10+ years with Admiral and no previous claims, I was shocked at how poorly my accident was handled. They accepted the other driver was fully at fault but refused to cover all the damage, ignored clear evidence from my dashcam and Land Rover app, and left me without a car while the complaint drags on. Extremely disappointing and unfair treatment. Reviewed on: 3rd October 2025

No problems, but a suggestion

In general, I have no problems whatsoever with Admiral as an insurer. They are professional and courteous, and I feel safe with them as my insurer. The only issue I have is with the telemetrics on the app; despite scoring gold for every single drive I do, I still get an overall score of silver/bronze. My job means I travel frequently as a passenger in other people's cars - I used to diligently change my status to "passenger" for those journeys, but this seems to make no difference, as these journeys are the only reason I can see for my score not averaging as gold. As a gold score would possibly bring my premium down, I feel slightly cheated that this process isn't as accurate as it could be and this could do with looking into. Reviewed on: 12th September 2025

Avoid Admiral!

Avoid Admiral! My elderly Mum waited 9 months to discover they would not pay out, despite her not being at fault. They take your premiums then leave you in the lurch. Reviewed on: 9th September 2025

Brilliant value for moneg

I’ve always found Admiral offer the most service for the best price. The added extras, as well as not increasing the price as much as other providers, made me stay with them another year. Luckily, I haven’t needed to contact the customer service for anything major, but they were ready to help when it came to changing my number plate. Would highly recommend!
