Boiler cover that doesnt cover the boiler

We had boiler cover for years and when it came to us claiming as our boiler decided to leak carbon monoxide they sent an engineer who said we need a new boiler BUT out boiler cover isn’t boiler cover as it states it’s boiler parts cover. If I had known it only covered parts I would have asked for one that covered the whole boiler but seen as I purchased boiler cover you would think it covered the whole bloody boiler. Admiral Platinum home emergency cover

After my boiler broke down supposedly covered under the above policy. We had two seperate engineers who could not fix the problem. When the cost rose to nearly £500 the maximum allowed per claim Admiral phoned to say in their engineers opinion the boiler was not repairable. Having been 3 days without heat or hot water. We contacted the manufacturers Vaillant. Within 2 hours one of their engineers turned up. He diagnosed the problem within 5 minutes fitted the part required from the spares he carries on his van. He then did all gas safety checks and the boiler was working normally. He said there is nothing wrong with your boiler. He charged us £299. Admiral your service is non existant. Policy Renewal

Did not want to renew as policy expensive. However, Admiral are now saying I owe them money (through a debt collector), when I cancelled the renewal. Rip off merchants Reviewed on: 13th January 2023

Congratulations on winning best overall insurer! I agree. I have only twice in my life had to claim on insurance and this year was the second and the only one with Admiral. It was fast and easy and settled quickly. It helped so much in a distressing situation after a theft event. Thank you Admiral. Reviewed on: 24th November 2022

Very slow, having to use their arranged Tradesmen to get done.

I placed a Home claim for a water leak back at the beginning of September, they sent someone out to fix the leak within 3 hours as I had emergency cover on my Platinum insurance policey. I got a quote from a local builder to put right damage to bathroom floor and kitchen ceiling, Admiral offered me less than a quater of it as a cash settlement I said NO! They placed a Claims Management Company in charge of my claim (Sedgwick) they then sent another (2nd) person out to assess damage, then increased the offer slightly, again I said No. I told them if they thought their offer was reasonable then they could arrage to have it done. They sent a guy out to prepare another estimate/quote. It's now at least three if not four weeks since that was done and I have heard Nothing. I am Not at all impressed with their cover when you most need it during a claim. Even though their prices look competitive I would avoid using them. Insurance is useless if it does not get to a resolution swiftly in the time of need ! I am STILL waiting to here from either Admiral or Sedgwick Claims Management about what they're up to.
