Best to go somewhere else. They take your money for years - no problem. Really obstructive when you are due to get it out. Lots of delaying tactics. Reviewed on: 21st December 2025

About this product

Aegon offered a Retiready Pension which was withdrawn for new customers from December 2023. For existing customers, it has a maximum service charge of 0.5% per year.

Review of the Aegon, Pension:

Appalling service ,

Appalling service ,husband been trying to get his pension and some draw down since December. Complain made and the sent £150 to his account to apologise and uphold his complaint. Now say they can’t confirm his account ( which thé have paid into ) therefore can’t send his money . Interest list in the period December to now is approx £800 . They are profiting from his money. As he has had major heart surgery and TIÀs this is causing extreme stress. Reviewed on: 5th November 2024

Flexible portfolio management, great customer service

My work pension changed providers to Aegon and the difference from our previous provider is huge. Much easier to manage investment options and a great website. The customer service is excellent, too. Reviewed on: 30th January 2018

Easy access and great customer service

When I contacted Aegon to transfer the value of my pension to a new provider they were professional and ensured the process was smooth and secure. Reviewed on: 11th September 2016

Slow administration and lack of understanding of customer needs

I had a pension policy with Aegon from a previous employer, which I wished to continue after leaving. This was much more difficult than expected and took about 6 months to set up. They insisted that I had to verify my identity with a certified copy of my passport, despite the fact that I was already a customer. When I later wanted to add another lump sum, this seemed to confuse them. They sent me the wrong form, then ignored me then twice told me they needed to verify my identity again. Eventually I managed to get it sorted but I would not recommend Aegon and wish I had chosen a different company. Reviewed on: 24th December 2015

Much room for improvement

I've had a catalogue of bad experiences with my Aegon pension. Everything from statements and calls have felt much more difficult than I would have expected. Not many of us can chose who our pension is with, but I would hope for better. Reviewed on: 29th July 2015
