Appalling claims settlement process

Ageas claims are absolutely appalling. Fast enough to take your money for a policy but a very different story when they are supposed to pay it out! I had my prize Porsche stolen last November, and trying to get some professionalism and efficiency from there claims department is impossible. The appointed loss adjuster took over 2 months to make an appointment to see me, then didn’t bother to reply to my emails asking him what he wanted in the way of documentation. The claim handler then told me not to deal with him any more or reply to his emails as he was ‘off the case’. He then turns up at my home unannounced 3 weeks later saying he is ‘back on the case’ and apologised for all the mess up! Ageas left it over 3 months before requesting a police report (that takes another 3 weeks). When I asked why everything is not requested at the start of the claim, I’m told ‘we can take as long as we like’! What sort of professional response is that! The claim is now into its 5th month and although I emailed the claim handler a week ago asking for an update, I still have no reply. They can’t even respond to an email in 7 days! I also asked for contact details for the head of the total loss department, and they wouldn’t give them to me, disgusting service. I have made complaint to the FOS and the FSA (financial governing bodies) as well as Ageas themselves. Next step will be the press and the courts! Reviewed on: 10th April 2019

Scammers

Daughters car was stolen and found in a ditch. The car was not a write off but they said they scrapped it. Not true in my opinion. Been two months now and they still haven’t paid out for a car they scrapped. This is theft by any law. So will have to report them to the police. Refused to supply a hire car. They have a clause which states you only get a hie car if your car i being repaired. Absolute liars and scammers. Have no idea what they have done with my daughters Mini. SCAMMERS...spoke with Matt..head of… SCAMMERS...spoke with Matt..head of Dept. They have no issues when registering but raise petty issues such as needed copies of various documents which i have never had to provide anyone in my 29 years of driving...when they purposely cancel they add ad additional £329 for all additional cancellation costs. Cancelled policy

Took out a policy at renewal for my car because it was the cheapest. (Broker was sterling insurance), policy started 21st June, less than 3 weeks later I get a text message and a phone call saying that my policy has been cancelled with 7 days notice! I spoke to three people, none of whom could tell me why it had been cancelled and the person I needed to speak to had gone home for the day. All this happened 2 days before I was due to go on holiday. I managed to renew my previous policy with Hastings thankfully. I finally got a call from 'Jack' at sterling insurance a few days into my holiday, he said the policy was cancelled because of a 'software issue ' when I took out the policy and 'they don't insure Landrovers' !! I was and still am gobsmacked but I did receive a full refund back to my credit card. (I had paid in full). Reviewed on: 21st July 2023

Just awful

Someone drove into our car and this insurance was supposed to cover the damage. Well, it refused to pay for the repair arguing that a second hand car replacement would be cheaper, and then it covered less than half the amount we had to pay for a comparable car. Just Terrible Service

Joke of a company worst ever

DO NOT GET ANY INSURANCE with this company, they will lie and fiddle you out of any kind of money they owe you and will mess you around as much as humanly possible if you do have a claim.. literally any company would be better than these.. by far the biggest load of cowboys I've ever encountered stay away and avoid like the plague in fact your chances of surving the plague are probably better than dealing with these thieves .. Vile and Totally Unprofessional!

I had sent my proof of no-clains to them 3 TIMES in emails WHICH THEY NEVER READ. THEY THEN CANCELLED MY POLICY without reason in computer generated bilge, and demanded further payment without explanation.. TERRIBLE COMPANY DON'T BOTHER THEY COULD COST YOU YOUR LICENSE. Reviewed on: 23rd May 2023
