Review of the AXA, Travel Insurance:

Unethical scammers

1
I wish I had read these reviews previously. Do not go near this company. 100% scammers. Everything written by others has been my experience too. I made a legitimate claim for an overseas medical emergency and they have made the process as painful and difficult as possible. They don’t answer emails, phone lines are near impossible to get through on and they have missed every deadline or broken every promise along the way. I’m 4 months into the claim and still without the £2k I’m owed, now with legal action being threatened by the overseas hospital. I am going to make a claim to the financial ombudsmen and i suggest others here do the same. In fact, if we all approached together this would be a much more powerful statement and testament to the company's unethical activity. I have also requested my case file and phone recordings to start building the case and showing the evidence that they've misled and acted (most likely on purpose) in a way that has made the process impossible to move forward. Very satisfied

My son was taken ill in Russia in the Hermitage Museum. He went by ambulance to an AXA owned clinic who dealt with AXA and all his expenses of overnight stay and battery of costs plus doctor were immediately paid without a quibble. Consequently I am completely confident of always using them as I know they will payout if required. Also, the website is easy to use and prices good. Reviewed on: 1st October 2017

Brilliant service

We had a terrible time on holiday with myself and baby admitted to hospital. So glad we had booked travel insurance through axa. They were professional, friendly, nothing was too much trouble and in particular they cared...horrible experience made easier through these guys x Reviewed on: 25th September 2017

So far so good

It was easy to set up my AXA travel insurance and I was able to make sure I had the right level of cover easily and compare it to other policies to ensure its the right product for me. I haven't had to claim on my insurance so I am unsure as to the claims process. Reviewed on: 4th July 2017

Terrible Company I Was Told Lies By Claim Line

1
I was unable to travel and phoned AXA Claim Line straight away for advice. I was concerned my travel insurance would not be valid until the start date of my policy. I explained this by phone but I was told, it does not matter because my travel insurance begins before my planned flight. I was advised to make a claim now and told I would very likely have a successful claim because I met all the criteria. I had doubts so I called them again the following day and spoke to another member of the AXA customer service team who told me exactly the same thing. I got a doctors letter and posted all the forms and evidence as instructed. I had my claim rejected because I made my claim before my insurance begun even though the advice given to me from the company was the opposite. I feel I was deliberately mislead and told lies to save this company money. It has caused me a lot of anxiety and distress. Please avoid. Reviewed on: 21st June 2016
