Got a redemption value to pay mortgage off 11th December, paid within one hour, App showed all correctly, then Barcleys took another direct debit on 19th, and the whole system has now spoilt Christmas new year everything, the customer services can do nothing and as with all banks the decision makers are hiding behind the phones. Five star service

As a first time buyer, I felt completely in the dark when it came to applying for a mortgage. Add in help to buy, a new build, and buying off plan and the situation was overwhelmingly. A gentleman called Thomas from Barclays did my first affordability checks over the phone and later on my mortgage application. Thomas was a saint dealing with my million questions, his patience was unending. He was completely knowledgeable, and hand held me through the process, he was positive throughout the process, always reassuring when I was worrying about everything. I can’t say enough good things about Thomas and Barclays and the service I received. Thomas was the friendliest person I’ve come across in terms of banks and customer service and I will be going back to Barclays in the coming year when I look to move to a bigger property. I'm on an excellent fixed rate. Get a monthly cash reward for banking, insuring and using a mortgage from barclays. Great customer service the few times I've needed it too. Oh and their app is excellent. Reviewed on: 23rd January 2019
