As a first time buyer, I felt completely in the dark when it came to applying for a mortgage. Add in help to buy, a new build, and buying off plan and the situation was overwhelmingly. A gentleman called Thomas from Barclays did my first affordability checks over the phone and later on my mortgage application. Thomas was a saint dealing with my million questions, his patience was unending. He was completely knowledgeable, and hand held me through the process, he was positive throughout the process, always reassuring when I was worrying about everything. I can’t say enough good things about Thomas and Barclays and the service I received. Thomas was the friendliest person I’ve come across in terms of banks and customer service and I will be going back to Barclays in the coming year when I look to move to a bigger property. I'm on an excellent fixed rate. Get a monthly cash reward for banking, insuring and using a mortgage from barclays. Great customer service the few times I've needed it too. Oh and their app is excellent. Reviewed on: 23rd January 2019
