Easy to open an account

I was a UK resident but not citizen recently arrived in the UK. I went to several banks to open an account but found them uninterested and unhelpful, except Barclays. Several years later I am still with them. Reviewed on: 15th February 2016

Bank account

They're good, I like how if I go overdrawn they send me a text to let me know so I can transfer cash. Reviewed on: 8th July 2017

Poor customer service

Poor online fraud protection, and it took me an afternoon off work to be able to be able to report. 3 months to get the money back AND 2 years later they still won't turn my online banking on. Have asked multiple times in store to be repeatedly told you can't do that here with no suggestion of what to do to fix the situation. Reviewed on: 29th June 2017

Great Bank to work with

Easy online service

Definitely improved over the years

I used to have problems with my account getting blocked for purchases fairly frequently which is a pain from a user point of view but great that they are proactive against potential fraudulent charges. They have improved with this and I rarely have any issues. Great that you can use online chat via mobile to solve basic queries, there's a few connectivity teething problems on their end but I'm sure this will continue to improve.
