Card blocked 3 times in 4 months!

I joined Barclays after a friend recommended them to me. The first 12 months I had no issues atall. The past 6 months I have had nothing but problems!! My account has been. Frozen 3 times in the past 4 months due to "fraudulent activity " Barclays customers service team passed me around to 3 different people until I got to the person that could help. My account was unblocked and I was told the companies that had taken money from my account and that they could get this money back for me. I was then placed on hold and when the adviser came back he told me that they couldn't claim the money back I had to do it myself. Since this I have received my new card and yet again had the same problem. Reviewed on: 9th July 2016

I visited my local Barclays Bank to withdraw a large amount of cash as we were having our driveway done. I was impressed that the cashier inquired as to whether i knew the people/company i was handing over that amount of cash to as they worry about scams etc! Reviewed on: 30th June 2016

Customer service

Barclays have been a leader within the financial sector for a number of years now, and as a direct response has become a stable company within the United Kingdom for the past couple of decades. As a student they were more than helpful when holding a student account. However since the financial crash of 2008 and the rise of Internet banking the face to face service of which the company led by example, has suffered somewhat. Branches have closed kiosks and unfortunately the personal touch of which allowed Barclays to stand out from the competiton has been lost.
