Easy to open an account

I was a UK resident but not citizen recently arrived in the UK. I went to several banks to open an account but found them uninterested and unhelpful, except Barclays. Several years later I am still with them. Reviewed on: 15th February 2016

Barclays

The best bank!

I have been with Barclays for over 10 years and they are the best bank out there. As a customer you feel they value your security as a priority and do whatever they can to help with your day to day banking. Every problem I have ever had has been almost immediately resolved and often with some form of compensation. Reviewed on: 26th January 2022

Just really good

Was my main account for years but closed when I hit hardship

Unfortunately, I hit hard times around 15 months ago and Barclays basically closed my accounts as soon as I got a DMP in place, they’ve now accepted everything and have been sound since but initially had issues with them accidentally cancelled my over draft when I requested a decrease and then sent me £50 For the inconvenience however as a bank they blocked my account several times and I had a few issues since switching to a different bank I’ve realised how shocking Barclays are. Reliable

easy to use

Only bank to accommodate me

Lived abroad for a number of years and had no UK bank account in my own name. Had to return to UK for personal reasons. Barclays was the only bank who would open me a bank account as I had no credit rating and no fixed address in the UK. They were so understanding. Reviewed on: 23rd January 2022

need to give better savings rates

whilst general daily banking is good and the mobile banking app is handy, it would really be a good thing to start upping the savings rates on some accounts. Reviewed on: 22nd January 2022

Great Bank

Friendly bank offering a wide range of products to suit everyone. Staff in branch can not do enough to help and the mobile banking app is one of the best around enabling you to do almost everything from the app. Reviewed on: 20th January 2022
