Competent. But at a price.

Been with Barclays since I was a kid. Always had helfpul support from their staff, my most recent was regarding USD. I complained that they don't pay credit interest, and the women looked on line then suggested that I try a different one of the Big 4. I did and now am moving my USD a/c to Lloyds! The Premier a/c used to give free coffees at Cafe Nero. Last year my wife received a lovely tea set - tea pot, cups and a variety of teas. Their black debit card can be exchanged for one with a photo of your choice on it. Otherwise I see little value - even the cash point withdrawals are lmited by the machines rather than the card. Premier current account

Have had excellent service on every occasion that I have needed to contact them, no matter how small the query has been. After all the problems that banks have had in recent times , the service that I have received really surprises me. Credit where it deserves it, is my motto. Reviewed on: 23rd November 2018

Everything has been sorted the easiest way

There was a problem with Barclays as I contacted customer support by phone regarding change my personal account details. Operators were not able to access my account without telephone password. I made a complaint by email and very soon, maybe in 30 min someone from Barclays contacted me by phone to help me sort out this problem. Everything has been done extremely easy way with apologising and compensation from Barclays. I am a Barclays' customer since 2009 I think and I am absolutely satisfied with its service. Very happy but a little guilty

We have taken up premier banking when offered to us. However, I feel really quite guilty in terms of being offered to be first in the queue if we call. What is this about? We are really happy with Barclays but this seems injust. Reviewed on: 11th February 2018

Benefits generally worthwhile.

Benefits are generally good though we have never had to claim on the travel insurance. We have used the RAC roadside assistance once and found it good. Reviewed on: 29th November 2017

Changed something that worked fine before

Changing the basis of the Premier banking service seems a thinly veiled way to increase the price. It has made a simple account more complex and less attractive. I'll continue with it, but think Barclays could have resisted the change or handled it better. Reviewed on: 1st February 2017

ok for some

ok so I have a Barclays Premier account which I have been ok with once I took advantage of the mobile and gadget insurance, RAC cover and travel insurance. Unfortunately they keep changing what is covered and how much it costs and it is now becoming expensive for what it is. I had the travel pack extra as I was going on holiday and wanted to make use of their Dragon pass which allows access to a lounge with food and drink available. On arrival at Manchester airport however both of the lounges were full and we weren't allowed in. On our return flight from Crete was a joke as the lounge wasn't even open! I tried to contact Barclays on my return to complain about this and reduce my package to the basic one, the man on the phone was less than helpful, told me I could change it but their system was down and I would have to phone back another time, he didn't even acknowledge the problem I had at the airports. In the New year I will be reviewing this premier account to see if it would be cheaper to have separate insurances separately and then change my account. Reviewed on: 24th December 2016
