What a palava !

So I get a letter inviting me - a long-standing customer- to register with Bath Online. I spend 10 minutes trying to find out how to register as opposed to signing up for a new account which is what the BO link comes up with: nothing on the lines of a helpful "Existing Customer ? Register here...". I fill out the form I eventually stumble upon & after choosing a Password I'm asked to provide some memorable information ("mix of letters & numbers recommended") - this really irritated me I think because it was too inductive when all I wanted to do was get registered ASAP & be on to something else. Why not ask for responses to questions e.g. "Favourite [X]" or "Memorable Word" as other sites do? Then right at the end ("at last!") I'm told I have to wait for a letter to reach me before being able to complete my registration because I provided a landline phone number rather than a mobile one!!! Why on earth isn't that made clear earlier and a facility provided at this last stage to insert a mobile number? Reviewed on: 12th December 2022

Room for improvement

Our experience with the Bath Building Society has not been good from the start. In spite of detailing exactly which account we wanted in 2008, the wrong account was opened and had to be changed, which lost us interest. Ever since, it has been difficult to obtain a tax certificate for our tax returns, right up to today when I discovered that a certificate promised 35 days ago was never sent.
