Agent resolved the issue via online chat straight away and send me email confirmation

I have asked the agent as to how can I deposit money into my newly opened regular saving account, and how long it takes for me to see the deposit online. Although I was told it will not be the same day rather the next day to see it she is happy to honor the deposit as the November deposit and I can make a fresh new deposit for December. On the plus side: Branch is still there for transactions in person. I understand a charge is being introduced for cheque withdrawals …. this is most unwelcome as we will have to pay future bills by transfers through our personal bank accounts to avoid such charges. It is difficult enough to transfer money in to BIBS electronically with your weird Account 00000000 number with NatWest. In fact, I find transfer from HSBC impossible as their system tells me this account does not exist! So I am forced to visit the Branch to pay my Service Charge. It would be helpful if BIBS could transfer funds to pay for our insurance, electricity bills and other major purchases. Transfers to my nominated bank account are fine, but amounts less than £50 are rejected. This is a nuisance and means we have to deal with cash at the Branch ….. or change our bank perhaps. Just clarify, there are no current plans to introduce charges for cheque withdrawals albeit we will keep this under review. There is no reason why you should not be able to pay into your account from HSBC. If you need help, please contact any of our Savings staff or look at our FAQ (frequently asked questions) section on our website. We will make payments to other banks for bills etc but with restrictions. It is worth pointing out that we are not bank, do not pretend to be a bank and don’t want to be a bank! We only offer Savings accounts and Mortgages. If you do want a bank account then it is probably sensible to open a bank account with a bank or one of the Building Societies that does offer banking type accounts. But hopefully you will leave your Savings with us as typically we pay much better rates on our Savings accounts than the banks do! Colin McDougall, Chief Commercial Officer.
