Average and expensive!

Very high prices for car insurance and large cost to make amendments to my policy (change car/leave) spend a long time on hold trying to get through!! Reviewed on: 7th July 2020

Diabolical Customer Service.

Terrible service, which uses multiple agencies / companies, with foreign call centre staff to process your claim. I waited for the engineer to phone me at the appointed time to discuss my vehicle value and condition, and he did not call and missed the appointment. I complained and they still did not call. I then received an email from the car hire Company saying that my claim was concluded and they were coming to collect my hire car. (Which arrived filthy dirty). I still have not received a payment and no call . I have had to chase and chase to get anywhere and I am still waiting for a pay-out over two weeks later. I am not at fault for the accident and the vehicle was declared a total loss after 24 hours so I don't understand why I am still waiting for my payment. I conclude that they are making excessive money in claiming £ 206.00 per day for a 999cc hire car from the other side insurers. They are a diabolical company to deal with, and I will never consider them again. There service has massively added to the stress of having a claim as if the accident is stressful enough, only to then have to deal with such poor customer service and then have to orchestrate your own claim. AVOID CHURCHILL INSURANCE .

Fully comprehensive insurance no fault accident, no calls, no courtesy car, call center staff in Asia that hang up rather than get involved. I now have no car, have lost work/employment, have injuries & yet there's nothing from Churchill Insurance Company . The most horrific experience of my life dealing with these people. Churchill: dishonest verging on fraudulent!.

Masters of time-wasting and delay tactics to make you want to go away and not bother them anymore. Everyone you speak to at Churchill tells of how they are constrained to not help you because of their systems or procedures - transferring you to the wrong departments to waste more time. Or hiding behind "we'll look into it and get back to you in 2-3 working days". Fraudulent in that they clearly state access to a "Courtesy Car" on the policy only for you to be told you're not! Today, they wasted so much of the day trying to organise a hire car that by the time it got to mid-afternoon and they'd sorted one, it was too late to deliver it until tomorrow when I needed it. Oh, and that was after they didn't organise one yesterday because no one called me back. If you take a policy with Churchill and need to make a claim, be prepared to get very frustrated, angry and stressed out that an organisation can be so incompetent in this day and age! Useless

Cancelled my insurance on my car as I had sold the car. Rang them and everything was ok. Then I saw they had taken money from my bank. I tried to ring them but after half an hour I gave up. Live chat was no help. I sent them an email. But they deducted another amount from my bank. So I cancelled direct debit. Now they want past 2 month’s payment. This company is a joke. Churchill are the absolute worst

They recovered my car after a smashed window and then asked that I collected it from a location. I found that it wasn’t at the location when I arrived and now I am without my car for another week. I have a disabled relative whom I can’t transport due to their mistake (they even acknowledged they had made it) but they have refused to do anything to rectify it. I am seeking legal action with a solicitor for damages. Shop elsewhere for insurance, please be warned!! Reviewed on: 14th December 2023

Rubbish service

Although not at fault, I've had to pay an excess which after 3 months has still not been refunded. They outsource the repair and courtesy car, and now I've bee contacted by the car hire company for the same information (again) so they can claim their costs back. Apparently I may be liable even though the car provided is part of the insurance. I've been with Churchill for over 20 years and can't believe how awful they've become, no customer service at all. Do not take Churchill car insurance

Please be careful do not take Churchill Car Insurance, they will leave people to live in hardship! anyone who has insurance change mind and take another car insurance. Their client smashed into my car drink driving and Churchill take away my car and left with 2k finance to pay , even knowing that it can cost me loose my job!!! No loyalty shown to existing customers

I am due for renewal and was shocked to see a 67% increase, on top of this I have unfortunately had to add 3 points for speeding which took the policy way off the Richter scale to a 200% increase. I’ve never claimed and in fact felt the guy I spoke to didn’t really care and was not interested in my custom. Suffice to say I will never use this company again. Reviewed on: 3rd October 2023
