A decent ethical bank

I enjoy banking with the Coop although they could do a little more to encourage customers to stay, especially with so many switching rewards. I like the linked savings and always find staff to be helpful and friendly. Reviewed on: 12th February 2017

Great for students accounts moving to current accounts

They have the best package for student accounts. That I have come across and they do not even advertise it. They are patient enough to give you a year to pay any interest free overdraft back while they change your account to a current. Plus are very understanding in-terms of, if you have any money issues they will just freeze/hold everything until things are okay again. Reviewed on: 11th February 2017

Excellent customer service, not the best online facilities but gradually improving.

I have been with the CO-OP Bank for a number of years and have found them extremely helpful, very professional and a good company to bank with. They have been very understanding regarding overdraft fee's and other bank charges, unlike a number of other banks. Despite the brilliant customer service, the online banking is not the best but improving gradually. Some services can also take a while compared to other banks, for example a cheque takes longer to clear with the CO OP than it does with most other banks. Overall I would give The Co Op four stars because of their excellent customer service, but improvements must be made to the online banking & processing speed. Reviewed on: 10th February 2017

Nice n Easy

The Co-Operative Bank may be one of the smaller companies out there to bank with but with all the usual features and fantastic customer service, I would recommend them to everybody. And they don't hassle or trick you into taking out credit you neither need nor asked for! Reviewed on: 8th February 2017

Easy, simple current account with an overdraft facility that doesn't break the bank.

This current account is great, along with the app which makes day to day, simple banking easy. Transferring money between coop accounts is instant and quick. Phone contact is great, you get to speak to a person who is very helpful and knowledgeable Reviewed on: 5th February 2017

HASSLE putting cheques in

Its not easy to pay in cash or cheque - you can post a cheque or use the post office but it takes a long time and is not very convenient. Reviewed on: 4th February 2017

Excellent service and clear information but no local access

I have been banking with The Co-op for around 15 years. I have always found their customer service to be excellent, quick to answer phone calls, efficient and friendly staff and an easy to use mobile app and online banking. The only downfall is the lack of local branches, if you need to add cash to an account the choices are not convenient at all. For some time customers could use Britannia Building Society branches for counter services but this has also ceased. I can use a Post Office to add cheques to my account but not cash.
