I'm autistic and dyslexic

I'm autistic and dyslexic and still… I'm autistic and dyslexic and still work full-time and been with coop many years. My tenancy was up 2 weeks ago and the council found me a flat to move into so I spent all my money moving and that includes all my overdraft so I have no money until I'm paid in a week .I called the coop bank to tell them I've 1 pound in electric left and no food in until I'm paid Friday can I have 50 pounds to get electric and abit of food until Friday! They said no and said that I should go to a food bank and they may get me some electric somehow but they weren't sure.i put the phone down ! I'm sitting here hungry and 1.25 left In my emergency electric .coop bank I hate you and how you treat disabled people in a time of need .50 pounds for electric and food until I'm paid but you prefer me to die Reviewed on: 27th August 2024

Excellent service and clear information but no local access

I have been banking with The Co-op for around 15 years. I have always found their customer service to be excellent, quick to answer phone calls, efficient and friendly staff and an easy to use mobile app and online banking. The only downfall is the lack of local branches, if you need to add cash to an account the choices are not convenient at all. For some time customers could use Britannia Building Society branches for counter services but this has also ceased. I can use a Post Office to add cheques to my account but not cash. Ethical bank with good cyst experience

The Co-operative bank is the only positive choice in today's world!

The Co-op is the most ethical high street bank. They offer everything you need and you can make withdrawals and deposits at the post office. The staff I have come across have been lovely and when telephoning, they have been very polite and helpful. Reviewed on: 13th January 2017

Good but could be great.

They have just done up the website which is great but transactions take too long to appear. It was easier to log in before, but perhaps that's the point. Great that it's ethical. Reviewed on: 5th January 2017

Mess up

I had recently swapped to the CO-OP Bank as I decided to change from Santander,I had the account open for less than a month when I tried to purchase an item online from Dunelm mill ,It took 2 attempts as thefirst payment was apparently not authorised,Later on checking my account I found that both payments of £260 (so £520) had gone from my account,I contacted the Co-op and was basically told they are a holding bank and i had to sort the payment out with the company I purchased from,withing 1 week I made a payment to my credit card or £500 which was also taken twice,I got that back within 3 days but the original payment took 3 weeks to go back into my account with no help from the co-op. Trustworthy

What impresses me most about the Co-op Bank is what impresses very many of those who choose to be with it. It's sheer ethical, moral standing. I find the bank utterly trustworthy - i.e. on your side and not on their own. - And that says a lot these days. I trust them to look after my money for my sake. Reviewed on: 28th December 2016
