Great bank! Great customer service, 24 hours a day, any issues are always dealt with promptly. Would be good if the current account paid interest as well. Reviewed on: 21st June 2025

Long term first direct devotee!

I've had my current account with first direct for about 30 years now (it was via post initially!) and they've consistently been at the cutting edge of customer service and technological advances in banking for all of that time now. Their excellent customer service (I believe) recognised that I was not making sensible financial decisions around 20 years ago, and gently encouraged me out of my circle of credit card abuse and debt, to the point where I haven't been overdrawn on my current account for around 12 years now! I genuinely love the brand, and will not change my current account to anyone else, no matter what the incentive! Reviewed on: 24th May 2024

Bank Account with Excellent Customer Service!

In the modern age of Bank Accounts the 1st Account provides superb Customer Service via phone or in App or Online Chat. Cannot fault it and my wife is equally impressed now She also has the account. Will always highly recommend to family and friends. Reviewed on: 24th May 2024

Good but getting tired

I've been with First Direct for many many years - shortly after they first started as an innovative telephone banking service. They have been solid and offer good service, but I feel that they are getting tired. The new wave of challenger banks do things slicker and offer better deals too. Reviewed on: 24th May 2024

Great customer service, wouldn’t switch purely because they are so responsive whenever I have an issue. Great app too and I always use their 7% saver account. Would like the ability to create savings pots like you can with Monzo. Reviewed on: 24th May 2024
