First Direct has a contact centre, based in the UK, that is open 24 hours a day, so you can ring and talk someone at any time. If you have an overdraft, the first £250 is interest free which is very helpful, and unlike most other UK bank accounts. Reviewed on: 9th February 2019

Online Only Baloney

As the first on line only bank, First Direct is remarkably boring and looks and feels like a traditional bricks and mortar bank. Limited functionality, poor, poor app experience, nonsense and overly complex 'security' processes...moving to Starling Bank. Reviewed on: 9th February 2019

Easy, reliable, fully formed

Day to say banking with first direct is great, the app and website are easy to use, staff on the phones are well trained. Unlike many of the new challenger banks, first direct offer a full range of products. They might have some catching up to do on the digital side, but they keep launching new updates, when it comes to service the others are nowhere near. Reviewed on: 9th February 2019
