Absolutely disgusted Unprofessional

Absolutely disgusted. I had an email and text from this company saying that I owe them this months payment for my car insurance plus at £20.00 fee due to the return direct debit. I told them two weeks from today's date to change my banking details which I assumed she did over the phone. Spoken to someone on the live chat box on the website and a lady named Julie was rude beyond words. So I stopped the chat and copied and pasted it for safe keeping and rang them up instead. this other useless foul mouthed woman the situation and she comes back and tells me that there is nothing mentioned on there system to say that I rang up. So basically I was called a liar twice, Once from Julie in live chat and this woman on the phone. She said that she will speak to her manager and see if they can wave the £20.00 yet to come back and said that her manager will not allow to wave the fee. I said it is not my fault your staff cannot do there job right. She kept on saying we need your monthly payment and the late payment fee or your insurance will be cancelled. I then continued saying, it was not my fault and all she was doing was over talking without allowing me to speak so I did the same and said, cancel my insurance, then she said, for me to cancel your insurance we need full payment and the 20.00 direct debit which came back and plus they will charge me £60.00 plus to cancel the insurance. First of all she said that if I do not pay the whole lot it will be cancelled, then she says they cant cancel it unless I pay for the monthly instalment and the late payment fee, work that one out. So thick it's unreal. So I continued to say, cancel my insurance and she kept saying we can't cancel your insurance bla bla bla. She would not let me talk and all she could so was over talking on top of me. This is not how you treat customers and all my years of having car insurance which is 28 years now, I have never came across such disgusting car insurance in my entire driving career. I would stay away and I will also contact trading standards which I have recorded the chat and copied the chat also I had with this so called Julie on there website chat box. I called to tell them I was buying anew car and would be trading mine in . leave the insurance on my old car until I’ve made the part exchange . well they cancelled it with out me know and insurance the new car even though I hadn’t picked it up yet . Then they wouldn’t insurance my old car back and tried to charge me £25 for the mistake they did . Called them on the 20th of September to cancel my insurance, they did not cancel it on their end. Then they kept on sending me letters and calls to pay cancellation fee of £60.00 and £44.12 for late payment as they did not cancel the insurance in September when I asked them to. Called them 5 times and each time I get a different response , from someone saying I did not need to make any payment , to someone saying to pay only £60.00. Then I got letters to say to pay £60 cancellation fee and £44.12 for late payment for October when I had cancelled my insurance since September. The even asked me to send my new insurance policy to them by email to prove that I have another insurance which I did.The customer service was very poor as I get a different information every time I called and there was no log of the previous communication so I had to keep repeating and explaining myself all over again which was so frustrating and a waste of my time. Worst insurance company, what to cancel my policy due to them not insuring my 18 year old son who has 9 months on his license. Asked for a cancellation an refund, and they’re saying you can get £2 refund wen I have around 6 months left with them appauling! Reviewed on: 15th November 2025

Avoid this company

They tried to keep charging me for a policy on a car thy wrote off and took away. When i tried to complain about this the person on the phone would just say what do you want me to do about it. Reviewed on: 17th June 2025

AVOID! Would not recommend!

I paid for my car insurance annually. I paid £199.19 for the insurance to commence from 11.05.24. However, I decided to scrap the car and so cancelled my insurance from 19.11.24. This meant I had used 6 months of my one year policy and I still had a few days sort of a 6 month policy remaining! I was reimbursed a mere £30.02!! I will NEVER use this company again and would advise others to avoid, avoid, AVOID! Reviewed on: 3rd January 2025

I have no issues with the insurance itself however their customer service is shocking as it their processes. Pray you never need to phone them! Don’t know what they are talking about - unhelpful- give out incorrect advice. Reviewed on: 24th August 2024

Absolute 10/10 in terms of getting done over from an insurance company. Started the policy on Monday but have since bought a new car (Unplanned at the time). They tried to more nearly triple my premium (on a much safer car) so I cancelled and have been stung for just over £100 total in order to cancel it. Even though it's in the 14 day cooling off period (Required by law) they are refusing to refund. Not only that but after checking my bank afterwards they have charged me twice for it all! Seemed cheap at the time on the comparison websites, however I would only advise people to avoid avoid avoid. Reviewed on: 15th February 2024

No issues throughout year of insurance. Didn't need to make a claim so can't comment on the process. Price was competitive. I changed my vehicle two months before the policy ended, but the revised premium price was similar to other provider's offerings. £25 to change vehicle details on the policy which was to be expected. Avoid this company at all costs

I have worked in insurance for 15 years and Geoffrey insurance are easily worst company i have ever dealt with. Taken 5 payments from account in 2 banking days, they have no idea why, they have hung up on me twice trying to contact them, have left me witch charges for failed Direct Debits from other companies because they took money when they shouldnt have. Sent 2 emails with no reply, you then fill the complaint form on there website, when you submit the form it goes to page not found. Avoid this company at all costs, they have no clue what they are doing or how to fix it when they have made a mistake. Out of pocket £60 in charges, plus £120 from them taking payments that where not authorised. Reviewed on: 27th November 2023
