Disgrace Towards Young Safe Drivers

I am extremely unhappy with the way Go Girl Car insurance handled my policy that I had placed on the 7th of January. We had received three very rude emails from them one claiming that we had an accident 4 years ago, which we didn't and provided proof off, the second email asked us to provide proof of all the licenses again which we did. Then we received another email threatening to shut my insurance policy down within 7 days. After receiving this email from Gogirl I had immediately called them to investigate and discovered that we had some how listed him as a provisional driver. So we are now thinking okay so why didn't you call us sooner about this mistake instead of leaving it this long. We then asked the guy on the phone how much it would cost to insure him as a full driving license only to discover to my horror that it would cost an additional £600 in total costing £1040 to insure a Peugeot 107! I investigated the pricing by using a comparison site called go-compare to find a policy that would only cost £480 with Hastings car insurance for us all on a full UK driving license this time and its comprehensive. I tell him no way am I prepared to pay that amount of money and ask to cancel which would cost me £40! How is that justified? I thought you could cancel within 14 days of the policy starting anyways! Can't get through ! !

Was the cheapest quote - BUT since getting the quote online 4 days ago, i've only managed to get through to them once after probably 7 calls waiting on average 10mins a time at 7p a minute. There's a fiver gone already without even speaking to anyone. I have just got through on another number to be told (by a human voice finally) that she'll put me through to someone who can deal with my problem - BUT they are very busy so expect a wait... No thanks ! Absolutely crap customer service in my opinion - not just a matter of them being 'very busy'. Obviously they don't have enough staff to deal with everyone. Get what you pay for like everything else I suppose. Might still cancel this policy. Reviewed on: 12th January 2016

After a lot of research using Google - which involved a lot of review reading and checking out the company in more detail I decided to buy the policy as was good priced. Thankfully no need to claim yet, and everything has gone smoothly. Reviewed on: 10th January 2016

Kept cancelling the policy. Never answer the telephone.

GoGirl asked for supplementary information, then threatened to cancel the policy. The info was sent and they sent an email cancelling anyway. I then managed to speak to a lovely young woman who said that the cancellation had been a system error. This was just before Christmas so just what I wanted to be doing at that time. Then I just had a final cancellation notice. Have just spent 20 minutes on the telephone hoping they might answer! Got through to the switchboard and still hanging on,,, Reviewed on: 4th January 2016

As a newish driver buying insurance is not something that I enjoy but it's a must now. When Gogirl came up as a cheap option for me I did a bit more research and decided to go ahead. I'm a very careful driver but when I did need to call Gogirl they were pleasant and helpful. Reviewed on: 31st December 2015

AVOID GO GIRL MOTOR INSURANCE

We chose go girl to insure our daughter'sfirst new car. She's on provisional licence with parents as named drivers and the premium of £369 was best on offer via comparison site. Rang the call centre to bring forward the commencement date by 2 days. After lengthy hold on the phones told there'dbe a £25 adjustment charge despite insurance not having begun but much was was told the premium would increase by £145!!!! Im not alone in this type of experience - see other reviews. Suddenly the £45 cancellation fee seems a bargain!! BE WARNED Reviewed on: 31st December 2015

£1125 to change car with 4 months left

I had insurance for my ka with go girl for £1900 with no black box - cheapest we could find, this was good. 8 months in, my ka broke down and had to be scrapped. I had 4 months insurance left with go girl, and was quoting for a Citroen c3, which is in the same bracket. The company wanted £1100 for the remaining months, as well as £25 admin fee, due to my lack of experience driving the car. A ka, same model and year as my own, was £395 as well as £25 admin fee. How can this be justified? So I cancelled my policy, lost my no claims, had £450 back and went with ingenie, who I paid £1500 for a year - with a black box. Still cheaper.
