The Halifax current account has everything you expect of a modern account. Cheque deposit by photo. Useful budgeting features. As someone who has used the current account switch service many times, Halifax is always the best experience. Reviewed on: 2nd March 2021

They opened my account in the wrong name

I recently opened an account with halifax and when I received the cards the letter was addressed to Mrs khan but when I opened it it said Dear Mr Khan and my card had Mr Khan on it when I called I was told the account was in Mr when I clearly opened it in Mrs and I was told to go to the branch to change it although it was their fault I called earlier today and was told to call back between 7-11 am to speak to the relevant team who would sort it instead I spoke to a very bad customer service lady who didn't even care and when I told her I wanted to close the account she just said wait while I put you on hold and just closed it she didn't even try to talk me out of it like the other lady did it was like she didn't care about the bank or their customers update: I waited ages for halifax to respond to my complaint and after many calls I received a letter saying they had looked at my complaint and gave me £30 compensation which I think is an insult considering the inconveniences they have caused me and I definitely won't be banking with them ever again Reviewed on: 2nd March 2021

Incompetent

I tried making an online transfer of monies from my Halifax account. However, I was requested to call the fraud line. I’ve was on hold for 3 hours and gave up. I tried again and gave up after another 3 hours. I spent 6 hours on the phone since it was an urgent transaction. I will now transfer my money elsewhere and similarly with all my businesses. Incompetence doesn’t fully describe such a service. Reviewed on: 26th February 2021

Great service and banking app

Excellent service at the branch.

I have visited my local branch 5 times in the last year. Very helpful, friendly staff. They have an excellent app for my tablet which I use to login using my fingerprint. Quick and easy. I can pay in cheques using the app. I have banked with the Halifax for over 20 years. Reviewed on: 17th February 2021
