Pretty standard experience

I joined Halifax as it had one of the higher interest rates and convenient branches (I am on the Expresscash account). My experience with them has been pretty standard - no bad experiences but nothing outstanding or exciting. One thing I really don't like is their login system. You cannot have symbols in your password, it is limited by length and requires you to use a memorable phrase as a second factor (2FA is brilliant but there must be better options than this). I am considering moving to a neobank like Monzo or Starling for a better experience that reflects how I actually use my account and what a modern current account should look like. Poor interest rates

Happy, Friendly bank

I have been banking with Halifax since I was 8 years old. I have found the customer service to be helpful and the online banking to be easy and simple. Whenever I have needed face-to-face assistance, I have gone into branch and found the staff to be well trained and friendly. Reviewed on: 18th January 2022

lost my cheque in branch!

not professional, how can they LOSE a cheque? deposited through the hole in the wall and left on the side in their office for over a week until i complained about being overdrawn for unknown reason. Reviewed on: 17th January 2022

Good for purposes.

Systems operate well and generally I do not have any problems. However they should reward people for leaving money in a basic current account without having to pay a monthly fee. They have the use of my money to fund borrowers and contribute to their costs so a fee free service should apply like it used to be in the past. Reviewed on: 17th January 2022
