Straightforward and clear

They charged me £150 for accidentally going £5 overdrawn.

A few years ago I was in bad health and had no money coming in and I accidentally went £5 overdrawn on my account. They immediately charged me £25. I wrote to them explaining that I had no money and that I couldn't pay it back, and they wrote back saying "tough", and they kept piling on the charges. I eventually managed to lend £150 from a relative to pay the money off, otherwise I expect they would have happily charged me thousands. Reviewed on: 20th June 2016

Fantastic cashback & great customer service

Was offered £100 to change my Natwest account to a Halifax Current account and £5 per month for £700+ deposits into the account. Everything was done online, I had nothing to do but complete a few small details in-store with very helpful Halifax staff. Reviewed on: 23rd May 2016

Fantastic customer service whichever branch I go into. Tea and coffee always offered and telephond banking very good and user friendly.

I love Halifax. They're always on hand 24/7 and telephone and online banking is great. Pick up time is usually very quick too. Reviewed on: 18th May 2016
