Review of the Halifax, Fixed Rate Mortgage:

Extremely untrustworthy

Do not even apply for a mortgage with these extremely unprofessional individuals. Initially I was told that they would lend me £125,000 for the mortgage and gave an AIP. Next they said they'd only loan me £99,000 because I spent £3000 to book a holiday on my credit card (which is what sound minded people do for insurance). Next day they told me that they could loan me somewhere between £119,000 and £135,000 with the full and same details i gave them again. Two days later, after sending my application to an underwriter, they saidnthey could only lend me £113,000 and specifically stated that this as because I had booked my holiday in my credit card DESPITE me paying it off days later. Utterly vile individuals. How is that junk bank still in operation. Managed by idiots. Reviewed on: 14th September 2023

Bad Product Range

After being a loyal customer for 10 years I decided to change my consent to let property to a buy to let product (after building up equity). I paid a high premium for consent to let. I was told I couldn't change my mortgage to a buy to let mortgage as it was previously a residential mortgage. When my consent to lease expired my mortgage increased AGAIN as I was told I had to reapply for the consent to lease. Reviewed on: 9th February 2017

Easy peasy!

When my fixed rate period ended, all I had to do was go onto the website and click a few buttons and I'd set another fixed rate for 2 years - so easy and fuss free! Reviewed on: 9th February 2017

A reliable service
