Avoid these chancers

In short I run a BTL business which obviously has a mortgage liability but runs at a consistently high profit. Hanley rejected my application for a personal mortgage (so completely separate to my Ltd) because of the liability attached to my Ltd, but refused to consider the cash flow that the Ltd generates. They took so long to come to a decision that I am now unable to find an alternative lender and will have to stick with my current provider at a higher rate. This is really basic stuff - if they are getting it so wrong at this level I can only imagine how poorly run the rest of the business is. Avoid at all costs. Reviewed on: 21st June 2024

The Human Touch

On the rare occasions that I’ve needed to contact them about my mortgage I cannot even bring to tell you how nice it is to just speak to a normal person without umpteen button presses. Even better, the person can almost always deal with the query themselves, and only occasionally do they need to transfer directly to a specific department. Reviewed on: 19th January 2026

The Hanley makes the whole mortgage process easy. I honestly can’t fault the mortgage process with Hanley Economic. From start to finish it was clear, smooth, and so well handled. Everything was explained in a way that actually made sense, communication was spot on, and I never felt rushed or left wondering what was happening next.
