Annual renewal after no claims went up 50%!

Ridiculous after 3 years my annual increase suddenly shot up 50%, letter said it was with final discount, when I ring to query they immediately bring it down to within £5 of my previous years monthly payments, Will def be looking elsewhere on renewal I dont like the underhand tactics. Eventually got the good price

Excellent service at competitive prices.

Like most people, I always check around each year for the best prices on Car Insurance. This year for the 1st time in quite some time there was a very clear winner in terms of lowest cost, and that was Hastings. It was a very simple online process and easy to set up monthly direct debits. Not only that, but it was an equally staggered monthly payment - and not a larger amount upfront as 1st payment, followed by ANOTHER payment within a few weeks. Recommended. Cheapest quite every year

Luckily I have never had to claim on my insurance but I shop around every year and have stayed with hastings for several years now. Only issue i had was call waiting times on a premium number to change details but have since resolved this with getting a none premium number. Reviewed on: 23rd August 2016

Renewal increase of 25% for no reason

Received my renewal for my car insurance. I was paying £36 per month yet the renewal demands £45 per month. I've not had a claim, in fact I have 30+ years no claims, still live in the same street, no health problems and no points on my licence yet I have been saddled with a 25% increase year on year. Fortunately I had got a few quotes in as I anticipated this sort of trick. I phoned Hastings to cancel my policy on renewal as they craftily arrange it to auto renew. One of my quotes is from Directline, their quote is actually cheaper than the £36 I currently pay. The rep at Hastings wanted to see what they could do with the renewal price but I am not interested in dealing with a company that tries to have me over and neither should anybody else. People, don't fall for this renewal scam. I used a link on Auto Trader that browses insurance companies for a quote. I've used it for years and generally it is pretty reliable. Rip off merchants

How can it be legal for a company to increase the price of your car insurance by £20 a month after two months due to a "technicality"on their end - rip off merchants, STAY AWAY!! Reviewed on: 15th August 2016
