Poor customer Service

Having been left the executor of my late sister's estate, I had the task of dealing with her accounts that were held with HSBC. At the time, I was very emotional as my sister died very suddenly. I found the bereavement department to be very unhelpful and was actually brought to tears by a very young and rude female and unhelpful member of staff. I was so upset I didn't phone back for at least a month. This call was completely different. I spoke to a lovely Irish gentleman who was so helpful and understanding, a real pleasure to deal with. He knew his area of expertise perfectly and was able to help me with everything I needed and eventually sorted the accounts for me. I just takes that one person to get HSBC that negative review in the way they treated me, but also proves they have some wonderful staff who are willing to help you in your time of need. AVOID!! Worst bank ever

Spoke to David Pearson today supposedly is a complaints specialist. He was rude aggressive and made personal judgement on my situation. Advising me I should managed my finances better he had no idea of my personal situation. He showed no care or compassion no empathy nothing. He came across as very rude and aggressive and when i politely asked him not to shout at me he rudely ended the call. No procedures in place to help disabled and vulnerable people. Ok for basic daily use.

I use it for basic daily use and it’s ok. I asked many times if they would update their app to make it easier to manage money and section it so outgoings are easier to manage and budget for but all I get is open a different account. As if that is a sensible solution when there are many. Staff are great in the call centre and helpful. Reviewed on: 10th April 2024

Hsbc standards have slipped compared to previous years.

Hsbc standards have slipped compared to previous years. For example, repeated failure to correctly set up a direct debit from hsbc ac for hsbc credit card. Took months to sort out and was only able to resolve by raising as a complaint. Reviewed on: 22nd March 2024
