As a single parent, I found it impossible to save. I Joined LCCU 20 years ago, starting with £1. I increased my monthly amount as and when I was able to and have been able to save for my children's future and my own future! I would not have been able to do this without having joined LCCU! Have never got a loan but my wife did.
