Communication could be a bit better.

There was some confusion over payment days which has lead to a bad mark on my credit history. So communication wasn't the absolute best. Also, my new mortgage rate comes into effect now-ish and I've had no communication regarding that. Reviewed on: 10th February 2025

I had little interaction with you but when I did it was dealt with by someone who seemed to be quite senior and he had great empathy for my situation which was that we were paying off most of the mortgage with proceeds of terminal illness cover. Reviewed on: 7th November 2021

Final Mortgage settlement

Excellent communication with Mansfield team - questions and issues dealt with promptly and efficiently. Closed account on due date. Only problem is that monthly direct debit was not included in the final mortgage statement and was paid and then refunded (~5 working days). Reviewed on: 2nd November 2021

The Mansfield Building Society have been excellent from start to finish of our mortgage application. Very efficient and go abovr and beyond for their customers. We would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a Mortgage, it was our 1st property purchase and we wish to thank all the team for making our journey run as smooth as possible. First time mortgage

Some excellent staff, but some very disappointing aspects.

Poor communication led to all sorts of problems initially- Mansfield insisted I split the title of the property before they would lend. Then, once split, they decided this was a huge problem because I couldn't grant myself access across my own property. (A brief summary of a complicated situation). This led to all sorts of problems and delays, and they were not particularly helpful. They didn't seem at all interested in helping sort out the problems they caused. Nichola, who seemed to just blame others, dealt with my case. I was asked how she was supposed to know I owned the surrounding land, as there was nothing on the paperwork to suggest this. A little odd, given that it was Mansfield who insisted on the split in the first place- how could I split it if it wasn't mine! She seemed to imply it was my fault- I feel it's not my fault that they don't share information effectively amongst themselves! Slow responses to emails, and errors like them putting the wrong number on a form took a week to correct. On the other hand, I found Shelley, and her colleagues in the call centre, very helpful, professional and swift to respond when assisting me with the redemption statement.
