Devastated

Katie Scrase very helpful but we are only ever informed of anything after multiple chases. To be informed completion was being worked to for the 3rd, to then only find out they may not even lend to us due to Japanese Knotweed. Even though a mortgage offer was submitted to us 1 month prior to this and no mention at all of that. Also the management treatment plan for the knotweed shows no areas of concern and is fully comprehensive. Also all other houses on the development have sold. To have this dropped on us on the 11th hour has caused considerable confusion and stress . Reviewed on: 1st December 2020

Offered Mortgage not Matched by Others

Ok but very slow

Recommend by our IFA but what should have taken 3-4 weeks took over 10. I realise that there pandemic affected everything but the delay and inability to be able to contact anyone or get a progress report caused considerable stress. Reviewed on: 23rd November 2020

Their customer care beats all of the bigger financial institutions

poor customer service

Good old no-nonsense building society

As older buyers, it was quite difficult to get a mortgage. We finally got one with the Mansfield BS - the rates were good, and we have found the customer service throughout the short life of the mortgage (now paid off) excellent. Reviewed on: 6th November 2020

Interest Only Mortgage

Very satisfactory. I have found Mansfield to be very efficient and helpful especially at this time of Covid. I needed an interest only mortgage at a fixed rate for 2 years in order to buy a property whilst I sold my previous one, which took a year. In that time the interest rate was extremely satisfactory and once the my property was sold and the 2 years was over I was able to pay off the mortgage.
