Poor regard for customer loyalty

There are three comments I would make: !. I have now moved to Congleton and have no access to a branch. All my dealings have to be done remotely. 2. Your procedures are not very convenient for a remote user. I have always found your address change procedure far more demanding than others - in particular the period within which a formal document showing the new address is too stringent. I always have difficulty providing one. 3. The two letters I received during the ISA transfer process were curt and sparse. There was no suggestion of any appreciation for my custom over the years. The Mansfield building society is a family establishment - my great grandfather opened my first account with Five Pounds when I was only a few days old. Mansfield building society is not only an monetary investment but also family. I have been saving my entire life, most childhood Saturday mornings were spent with a brief visit in to watch my mother make a deposit. You can always trust the society tellers to have a smile - my favourite is Jill! They all make it a pleasure to save for the future rainy days! Reviewed on: 1st September 2020

Had to close a savings account have had for many years-needed money but it was impossible to do on-line despite customer for many years and having on-line portal. Had to write in. Then, despite having my bank details for interest payments, even after writing in to close account with my passbook, you wouldn't simply transfer the closing balance to my bank account but instead sent me a cheque, causing lots of extra time, cost and risk, especially during corona outbreak meaning I now have to go to bank or send it to them in post - more risk. This is costly for you too and in this day of modern technology, completely unacceptable as well as a waste of money. Reviewed on: 15th July 2020

Visited the Sutton branch to open a new bond which I expected would have to be passed to the head office but no, I had already filled in the forms having downloaded them, the cashier copied my ID and verified it, checked the forms and too the cheque and said the book would be posted to me either that day or the next. I received the book the following day - you cannot better that! Reviewed on: 14th July 2020
