Good products, but not class-leading

After a period of non-availability, a Regular Saver Account has re-introduced, but the Interest Rate is only 1.20%. On the same day, I opened a Regular Saver Account with the Coventry Building Society, who are paying 1.85% Reviewed on: 1st July 2020

I have found the service from the savings team at Mansfield Building Society to be good. They treat you as an individual and it is s if they know you, rather than the corporate experience you get with a large bank. Reviewed on: 1st July 2020

Cut in interest rates

When one can get better interest rates from NS&I (backed by the Government and therefore 100% secure) than from a building society it’s time to move your money. Reviewed on: 9th June 2020

Usually very competitive, but currently rather unappealing

Regular Savings Account currently unavailable. Refusal to supply Section 975 Certificates is an on-going annoyance Reviewed on: 8th June 2020

With the introduction of the Personal Savings Allowance by the government in 2016, we are no longer able to offer this service. MBS provides excellent customer service by phone, post and email to me. Disapointed that they have reduced regular saver interest rates recently. Reviewed on: 29th May 2020

Poor returns for savers

My savings account matured, sent forms to put into another account assume it's been done though I've had no correspondence to confirm. New account interest rate not great. Reviewed on: 28th May 2020

Not easy to transfer ISA

Obviously the rates on all finance have been reduced but when I received the new rate for my easy cash ISA it was so lie I added if there were any other ISA's I could transfer it to do I wouldn't lose the tax exemption but was told I that although there was a new fixed rate ISA that would pay 0.70% I couldn't transfer into it was only for new customers. I did not want to lose my years ISA allowance so I decided to transfer my ISA's & then this took much longer as apart from sending pass books back Mansfield did not electronic transfer.
