depends on the product and whether or not you're local

The main problem is that there was a bad combination of a mixture of digital requirements and actual postal that made it very hard to close our account and get our money back at the end. Opening was fine and their rates of interest were excellent at the time. The staff were very friendly but the forms and processes all felt quite antiquated Reviewed on: 12th January 2026

What’s not to like.

Unable to add second account holder electronically,...

Unable to add second account holder electronically, Had to await forms to be sent out and delivered. I have two accounts so had to make the same request on two individaul forms one for each account. Reate the same infrmation twice for the scond account holder adn repeat the information already held by Mansfield onto two forms. Reviewed on: 12th January 2026

Service and Products for All Delivered with a Smile

I opened savings accounts for each of my 3 children when they were little. It was lovely to have a local branch where staff were welcoming and friendly. Thirty years later my son applied for a mortgage and received a very professional service. I have opened a regular savings account which I think is good value. And again I value the personal service being able to pop into the branch. I much prefer the friendly face to face customer service from staff who clearly enjoy their work than having to rely on impersonal, often automated telephone helplines.
