Great interest rate but old fashioned and long-winded

The person who I dealt with at the society was very helpful and I'm very happy with the end result. However, I did have issues receiving emails (with some emails stating it was outside the Mansfield Building Society and the sender was being labelled unverified) and I was also dealing with my contact by mobile and text messages. The bank account I was transferring the monies to was a Barclays account, so I became a little nervous. I then googled building societies in Nottingham and it never came up. I even resorted to checking the FCA Register. At one point I even wondered if I was being scammed. I phoned the branch to verify the details and was still not 100% happy transferring the money. To be honest, it wasn't until I actually received the welcome letter and account book I was fully reassured. Reviewed on: 6th August 2025

Old fashioned building society.
