Ideal place to save for a rainy-day pot of money.

Good saving rates, website a bit Spartan but doing what it needs to do, so I am not really complaining. The paperwork/process to prove my address when applying for the account was a bit annoying; but things got there in the end. Of course, there is no mobile app; but I would rather keep the higher rates of savings as is currently the case. So, as the title says, for long term deposits, ideal place for me. My Mansfield Experience

The savings product I hold follows the base rate so it is not the best place for my money in terms of savings rate where other providers offer a higher rate. The lack of app and difficulty to see how much money I have in my account is a negative. Offering an app would be good and could be offered alongside the physical book as I understand other customers may prefer to keep the book. The customer service when I have rung up is very good. The Staff of MBS

I have received this on behalf of my wife who has dementia and is now in a care home. I have gone though many financial difficulties such as Power of Attorney and ending her accounts, tranferring money between accounts in the BS and to bank acounts. There have been many complications and the staff, all of them, have always been patient, helpful and tried to resolve asap those problems where we disagreed, such as which PoA was appropriate for a particular problem. They're a great bunch of people and Mansfield is fortunate to have them. Reviewed on: 21st March 2025
