A Great Account For Sole Traders/Self Employed

I'm self-employed and it became necessary to make my tax returns digital. After much research, I found that Mettle offered free software which was interesting the only reason to choose this bank. After using the account for a few years I must say that I've been completely satisfied with the whole experience. On the rare occasion that I've needed to contact customer service my query was answered quickly and efficiently. My account synchronises beautifully with the free software and the whole experience saves me many hours of paperwork each year! Reviewed on: 18th March 2025

I am happy to use Mettle account.

I am happy to use Mettle as a business account. It was really easy and simple to open account with few questions and requirements comparatively other banks. The only thing which was ineffective is we can’t send or receive international payments on this account. I would recommend to start working on this as well. Reviewed on: 18th March 2025

So easy to use, everything is visible and can instantly see transactions as completed. the ability to keep separate pots and get interest on savings pot is brilliant. best banking app we have even better than the parent bank. Reviewed on: 18th March 2025

Great bank to start your business with!!

Everytime we have spoke to customer services they have been great! They respond very quick and have always been super helpful! Would highly recommend to anyone! Using the app is so straight forward and doing accounting side of things has been super easy too.. for anyone starting off this has been the best tool available! The catagorising, individual pots to put aside money for tax purposes, the helpful tips and articles has made my life super easy so thank you very much!! Amazing features with no fees involved!!! Fast and easy to set up, but some major drawbacks exist

Fast and easy to set up. Backed by NatWest is a plus vs. other competitors which do not have the FSCS guarantee. Inbuilt account is probably helpful for many (sole traders), less so for me as a Ltd. Good value for money. App is intuitive and easy to use. Major negatives: 1) No IBAN (forces me to use another bank account for international clients) 2) 10k limit per transfer is irritating. There should be a way to adjust this. 3) Interest on savings pot is so low its almost an insult Reviewed on: 18th March 2025
