Best banking experience

I have a monzo account myself. I wanted to set one up for my granddaughter so she could have access to money also family members could transfer money to her directly. So easy to do best thing I did Reviewed on: 6th March 2026

Absolutely brilliant

We absolutely love our Monzo Under 16s account - from the easy to use build friendly app to the fantastic coloured card, it is designed to be attractive to children, easy for parents and sneakily a little bit educational too. We appreciate the fact that both parents have easily been able to link our accounts to make it easy to set pocket money, reward good behaviour and add birthday money. Our family loves that you can add little notes, thank yous and even emojis too! For our daughter, it is clear, simple and easy to use. Pots are simple to set up to make saving goals easy to reach, and the little facts and information videos are great at teaching children all about money. She enjoys the feeling of having a bank card and an app just like the adults have, whereas I enjoy the peace of mind of being linked to that account, receiving real-time information on her spending, and easily being able to set spending limits and selected retailers. Basically put, the Monzo Under 16s account is clear, simple, safe, educational and of course in true Monzo fashion there’s an added touch of fun and colour. We couldn’t ask for anything more! Brilliant product and great customer service.

My daughter has loved having her own Monzo account and savings accounts. Being able to show her savings and spending accounts, helping her learn about financial decisions from a young age is a key life skill. The little things made a huge difference - her photo on her account, picking the colour of her card. Labelling payments and savings even with emojis really made her engage with money and finances. Absolutely brilliant kids account

I’ve had an excellent experience with the Monzo Under 16 account. As a parent, it’s brilliant being able to see everything directly in my own app. I can easily check my child’s spending, keep an eye on where money is going, and help guide them when needed. The savings features are great too. It’s a really practical way to start teaching children about money, budgeting, and making smart spending choices. My child is learning the value of money while still having the independence to manage their own card. Overall, it’s an ideal way to introduce young people to finance in a safe and controlled way. I’ve already recommended it to family members and would definitely recommend it to other parents as well. Reviewed on: 6th March 2026

Absolutely love Monzo first class customer service and easy to navigate through all my accounts but super great for under 16's my 7 year old grandson feels so grown up with his own card and especially that he could pick the colour of his card too. Reviewed on: 6th March 2026
