Monzo offer a free bank account for under 16s, with controls set by their parent or guardian.

Kids get their own neon card and can see their money in the Monzo app. Parents or Guardians can keep an eye on the account, set spending limits and schedule pocket money.

Monzo is the best it’s excellent

Monzo is the best, Excellent service in transferring money. Can move money from my child account back to my account which other banks don’t have that service. Excellent customer service. My son is really enjoying using his Monzo account. All I can say is thank you Monzo you have really made banking for parents easy. Reviewed on: 20th March 2026

Under 16 account with card & no fees parents have control lWe love using Monzo and so does my child. They have their own fabulous, brightly coloured physical card as well as a virtual card and I’m notified instantly whenever it’s used. I originally set up Monzo for spending abroad on holidays and it’s fantastic the exchange rates are excellent. I also love that you can create different pots to organise your money easily.
