Helping a solo mum manage spening and saving

I have used Monzo for several years and made the switch to using it as my main bank account around 2 years ago. By being able to use pots, vitual cards, and real time tracking of my spending I have managed to get a real grip on my spending (and more importantly saving!), which as a solo mother, has been invaluable for me. I use pots to put money aside both weekly and monthly for big expenses, like birthdays, christmas, car MOT/Tax/insurance, etc.. I use other pots and linked virtual cards to set aside money for ALL of my bills plus all of my grocery shopping, and then I can easily see what money I have left to do fun things for myself or with my family. I love that I can essentially do cash stuffing, without the hassle of cash... I round up every transaction into my savings pot, plus I do the 1p challenge and the 52 week challenge. Every month once I have paid for all bills and shopping, any remaining money gets moved into a 'bonus' pot, which I can use for guilt free treats. I check the Monzo app several times a day, and am aware of my balance and spending in a way I have NEVER been before. 10/10 would recommend! Reviewed on: 7th March 2024

Transparency and no more money arguments!

Monzo is fantastic. For budgeting and transparency it's amazing. My wife and I never argue about money or how it's spent because monzo helps us allocate and centralise it. There's no other app anywhere near as good from the other banks. Now they've got investing and savings I've just brought it all under one roof. Reviewed on: 7th March 2024

Personable, fun and easy

Features I like: The option on when to start my budget cycle and what categories are exactly budgeted. Flex is so useful on big purchases, and that fact I have some time to decide whether I would like to flex after paying on my debit card. Splitting payments are so easy, especially with fellow Monzo users. The money shows to come out of my account immediately and I'm notified of how much I spend. I can add notes on purchases if it's not too obvious how they appear on my current account. It's a little less dull to send/request money with the use of emojis. I'm also paid a day earlier than my colleagues since BACS can be received earlier than most banks. Their customer service has been handy when I lost my card + had to freeze it. Cashback options could be improved, I understand the percentage is often low with most banks, but the options on where you receive cashback could be better. Reviewed on: 7th March 2024

Monzo is the best bank I’ve ever used

Monzo is the best bank I’ve ever used. I do have accounts in other banks, but they cannot compare with Monzo, so I never use them. I don’t even need a financial advisor because it’s so easy to manage money with Monzo. I have actually started saving so much because of that, improved my financial situation and had the support from Monzo all the way. I would recommend them to anyone 10/10. 10/10 service from Monzo!

I’ve used Monza for years now and love the service and functionality of the banking app. To top it all last year I was selected to be a part of their investor trail and.. it’s incredible the app details every part of my investment with tutorials on eduction with the added bonus of complete control if I want to change the way I invest or remove my investment all together, I recommend Monzo to everyone! 10/10 Reviewed on: 7th March 2024
