Review of the NatWest Group - Cora, Digital Assistant:

Stick to calling, far better.

I've attempted to use Cora each time I have a problem, it simply doesn't understand plain questions. E. G. How much will it cost to pay off my mortgage in full. Reviewed on: 22nd November 2024

Not even worth one star.....

1
NatWest app and online services are awful. Ask Cora doesn't exist on the pages they say it does, and links to it and their complaints process don't work. Would rank them as the worst banking experience I have had. NatWest's new current account application process discriminates against EU citizens who were in the UK before Brexit. Their identity process asks for Residency Permit or Visa, nothing else. EU citizens here before Brexit get a thing called Settled Stats, which NatWest does not offer for identity checks. So you cannot setup an account. After half a day of being on hold and talking to people without a clue I still don't have an accout setup, and I cannot get a reply from "[email protected]". So we have banks with record profits, still shutting branches and then providing garbage services through their apps and online portals. The government needs to catch up with their regulations and oversight on banks to hold them accountable for garbage services. Avoid NatWest at all costs. NatWest and RBS have some of the worst customer satisfaction surveys for a reason. Reviewed on: 24th February 2023

Good rate, efficient

The process of applying for accounts is quick and easy and the rate the bank offers is good. Reviewed on: 23rd February 2023

Good for simple matters but useless for complicated issues

2
I would hope that most people could look at the FAQ's and other information on the site to answer most questions so those who have to "AskCora" must have more complex enquiries? The wretched thing asks the same questions over and over again when none of the options are appropriate, then ask you to rephrase the question when you know that will not help. FINALLY you get put through to an agent, however that can take up to 20 minutes for one to become available as "We are experiencing high demand" WHICH HAPPENS EVERY TIME (Get more staff!). Other "Chat" facilities tell you where you are in their queue and what your likely waiting time is going to be (so you can decide to give up) or take a number to call you back when an agent is finally free? Cora does neither! Reviewed on: 23rd February 2023

A wide array of helpful options

4
It offered a wide array of potential solutions but my answer wasn't there, perhaps I didn't word it correctly. As long as I could get a hold of a person then I'm happy. Other places of improvement could be: faster messaging - it seems there was an artificial delay between some answers which may help some people but I don't think it was necessary. Also I would have liked to have the option to be redirected to an agent if the first query was not answered. Reviewed on: 23rd February 2023

Switching

I just went around in circles without getting an answer for my specific problem. I gave up without switching as I needed to speak to a person. Very annoying! Reviewed on: 22nd February 2023

Cora is a very easy to use support tool, Cora acts more like a friend who you can talk to in an informal way. Cora makes asking any question easy and even offers suggestions. Reviewed on: 22nd February 2023

utter failure

I have just wasted 45 minutes trying to get a simple answer to a very basic question, how do I get an email address to write to head office? Reviewed on: 22nd February 2023
