Amazing bank super useful and great customer service!

There is a huge difference between the attitude of staff in different branches but when you find a good one, they are great. Reviewed on: 7th January 2020

Once fine banking but these days not always

In the old days, despite less sophisticated systems, you could be more sure of things going well, and of there was a problem you could pop in to a local branch anywhere. Today things go wrong too often - latest my account yet again blocked for security reasons [yet again] - and you have to telephone to sort things out, not easy when you're abroad. It seems the only way to get responses is by formally complaining. Nat West Twitter is quite good but as they say there are only a few things they can do. In this day and age I would have expected much better, especially if it is the bank that cutts off access to my account, surely it should contact the customer to explain why and to put right? Services ok but customer service is really suffering

Attend the Peterborough branch regularly and have found that customer service has all but disappeared. Lots of staff running around frantically tapping security codes into doors but very few actually serving on the counter and getting every day customers served Reviewed on: 27th December 2019

Poor

Applied for an account online, completed all financial information, then they asked for ID, so as I was busy didn't complete that section for a while and I got text messages and emails over and over and over, that you are unable to reply to(as I did try)(noreply) until they said unless I send the ID they will end the application, strange way of getting new business to threaten customers. So my wife and I sent in the ID before the deadline and then they decline to give us an account as we didn't meet the criteria. What a load of rubbish, if we didn't meet the criteria they knew that before they got our ID. Will never use Natwest or RBS now for business or personal banking. Been with Santander for 20 years but thought it was worth checking the market in case other banks offered more, turns out it was a mistake to try Natwest. Avoid , as if they push and treat potential customer this badly imagine what they would have been like if I had become a customer. Dodged a Bullet. Ps. This is not because of anything financial as my credit score is top notch, so they have some weird criteria , perhaps they weren't going to be able to rip me off so didn't want my custom. Great Bank

Ive not had any problems at all so far with Natwest. The bank account does exactly what it says on the tin. Would recommend! Reviewed on: 6th December 2019

Does the job, unless your about to buy a food shop

2
Had a terrible experience whereby the app went down just as I transferred money over to my current account in the queue at the supermarket. As I went to pay for my food, my card kept declining.... now bright red & being stared at by people, I rang NatWest who told me their system was down. Apparently it was my fault & I shouldn’t have left it so late to transfer my money! Think what you will of NatWest but I was mortified that day! Reviewed on: 6th December 2019
