Review of the NatWest, Everyday account:

Best bank to go with.

5
I’ve been with this bank since I was 12. I’m now 23 I had a savings account to start off with so that I can learn about money and savings. You get a card and you can either put money on that car or draw the money off. Once you’ve turned 18 you’ll get a debit card and that card can be used like the savings card but with the ability to use it online and in stores. I’ve never had a problem with my bank growing up and I still use the same bank today because it’s easy to use and they are on the ball with the verify your payment. They constantly keep the app updated and they also keep you updated on what’s new and what’s happening. So an example, I had a Visa card and they emailed me saying that they are changing from visa to master card and at first I was worried about me having to go through lots of paper work etc but they made sure to explain everything in great detail. It was very simple and all my details were the same and nothing had changed except the card itself and it being master card and not visa. They also do student loans and other types of loans as well and it’s very simple to obtain what you need. With this bank you can now change your phone number etc in the banking app, before you had to use a card reader and follow the instructions. Using the card reader isn’t hard but can be tricky to some who have poor eyesight, so I’m glad they added this new feature. With this bank you don’t even have to stay with them, you can start off with a savings account at the same age I did and then go to a different bank of your choice. On of my friends went with NatWest to start off with and then went to Halifax for the point and cash back features… because he loves Costa :) So if you’re looking for a bank to teach your kids about savings and having an easy app to work with then NatWest would be a good choice to start off with. Terrible IT systems and terrible customer service.

Terrible IT systems and terrible customer service. I opened a new account a week ago am still not able to view my account. I've tried contacting their customer help line but they say that they are unable to do anything, all queries must go through their AI chatbox 'Cora'. I have tried contacting them through Cora but it's terrible, sometimes unresponsive, and was never helpful. Reviewed on: 25th March 2024

Basic Banking Product Limited Digital Experience

2
NatWest offers a decent off the shelf banking current account. There are limitations in the user experience from a digital experience given the limited and non intuitive design. It does however have the benefit of being a bank that offers classic in branch experience. Poor on digital but a reasonable bank to have in addition to your digital bank. The banking on line is really good.

5
The banking on line is really good. The loss of branches is a shame and makes things like helping older relatives with their banking difficult. The app is brilliant And I think Nat West is ahead of other banks my family use as it rarely goes wrong. There could be more incentives like avoid points. Reviewed on: 25th February 2024
