Pleasant, helpful and considerate service

Our mortgage was due for renewal, we visited Newbury Building Society and discussed our options with a mortgage adviser. Within 20 minutes we had signed up for a new 3 year deal at a preferential reduced rate. What more could we ask for? Fabulous. Reviewed on: 4th January 2018

Very helpful

Difficult situation re mortgaging my truesteel framed home in which I have lived for more than 20 years. Very helpful face to face contact in which the mortgage advisor was extremely knowledgeable, helpful and very reassuring. Just a brilliant local service in an era of faceless online form filling. Positive response to extension of mortgage term.

Newbury Building Society took a flexible attitude to our request to extend the term of our mortgage,despite my age being greater than the limit imposed by most lenders.The mortgage is joint with my wife who is considerably younger and will inherit half of my final salary pension plus joint assets.Newbury B S assessed all this plus our payment record and low loan to equity ratio and granted our request. We believe they demonstrated flexibility and individual treatment,whereas most lenders would have rejected the request outright on rigid maximum age policy. Reviewed on: 4th January 2018

Value for money and personal service

I have had successive mortgages with the Newbury over the last few years and their customer service is personal and, in my experience, second to none. You speak to a human being without going on hold and they deal with your query. The rates are competitive and I was delighted that they didn't pass on the recent interest hike, having reduced rates when it went down. Recommended! Reviewed on: 4th January 2018
