Polite but a little slow

Whilst I was delighted that I was able to obtain a mortgage, I felt let down by the timescales, especially as you told my broker my paperwork would arrive the day after her query, only to find you had 2 customers with the same name. Mine arrived the day I left to go on holiday, delaying it by 2 weeks. Once complete I had very polite after sales service. Reviewed on: 25th September 2023

Excellent service

Fantastic Service

I applied for an advance on my mortgage and was dealt with by Angela Bradhsaw. I can honestly say from start to finish she was wonderful. Friendly and extremely patient with me when explaining the different mortgage products. Once I had made my decision, she was quick and efficient in getting all the relevant paperwork to me. Any queries I emailed to her were responded to quickly. Newbury worked within their quoted turnaround times and the whole process went smoothly. Can't fault them. Newbury Building Society provided a great service to us. kept us abreast of interest rate rises na generally communicated very well. Their staff are friendly, professional and knowledgeable. Simple and efficient to deal with (and very keen rates)

I recently switched mortgage products following expiry of an existing deal and the process was really quick and easy - the one criticism of Newbury is that there is no way of viewing your outstanding mortgage balance on-line (which is essential in effectively managing your debts) meaning you need to write, call or visit every time you need an update. Remortgage

Overall a good experience, although when trying to get through to the right person to speak t, the first couple of people seemed confused as to what I wanted which seemed odd as all o wanted to do was discuss my remortgage. Otherwise, all good. Reviewed on: 8th September 2023

Renewal of our mortgage products.

Our mortgage is split into 3 parts and a review of the entire mortgage was due . Unfortunately there has been a catalog of errors. The initial letter saying a review was incorrect. The letter received after the review was incorrect and had to be redone. We had decided to take a fixed rate on 2 parts of our mortgage and leave one part on its existing product. We received a letter saying that these two mortgage parts would be switched wef 28th July 2023. Subsequently we received a letter saying that our payments were increasing, after 28th July. I contacted the Newbury to be told that they could not trace having sent the letter confirming that my new fixed rate would start on 28th July. This was a mess. The Newbury have since found the letter of confirmation of my new fixed rate but say it was sent in error as they had not received our written acceptance of the new fixed rate product!
