Straightforward and honest building society

I was with NBS for a little under 5 years. During that time, I remortgaged with NBS twice on variable rates and always found them to be easy to contact, approachable and transparent. The rates given were the most competitive at the time and I found that whilst interest rates were rising, NBS did their upmost to prevent passing that on in their variable rates. Would 100% recommend based on the experience I’ve had over the time I was with them. Reviewed on: 14th June 2022

Remortgaging

Having dealt happily with the Newbury B/S I have no issue with recommending them. Apart from getting the job done it is refreshing to have a phone call answered, put through to a relevant person and dealt efficiently without the discourteousness and frustration that comes with press 1 for this 2 for that and then waiting endlessly for a pick-up. Very helpful and pragmatic

From the outset, the process for arranging additional borrowing was helpful and tailored to our personal circumstances. The advisor was able to answer questions and also to ensure that our wishes were conveyed to the underwriters. The only criticism would be that the underwriters took quite a long time to assess and decide on what seemed a straightforward application. Final payment

Really apppreciate having people in a branch you can physically speak to and not just a call centre. I was expecting some sort of cake, fancy congratulations letter but in the schemem of things i was probably lost in the noise Reviewed on: 11th June 2022

Easy repayment in full

I rang to ask for a settlement statement. The lady who helped me was pleasant and helpful as always. Statement arrived a couple of days later and within a week of paying I received notification of clearance from Newbury B S and also from The Land Registry.Barbara Very efficient and easy transaction.
