Really friendly, helpful staff and also easy to add funds by internet as well.

I met staff of Newbury Building Society at Abingdon Air Show and liked the sound of the account which I subsequently opened in branch. The service I received in branch was very good and the whole process was very smooth. Since then I have used internet access which again is very user-friendly (I'm not computer-savvy, so need simple systems!). Reviewed on: 4th January 2018

Best Savings Provider/Best Building Society

A local building society that serves its local customers well, provides great customer service, and has a high street presence when other major players are withdrawing in shame. Its interest rates are regularly reviewed and are competitive in the current market. Reviewed on: 8th February 2023

Lots of different ways to save

The Newbury Building Society offers a wide range of accounts for savers both short term easy access or longer term commitments. Particularly rate the Existing Savers which attracts a better interest rate. All my dealings with staff at their Hungerford office have been excellent. Reviewed on: 8th February 2023

Outstanding

The savings accounts range is good, the interest rates are very competitive, the online account access is great. I only have limited experience of visiting branches but have found Newbury's staff to offer a wonderfully helpful, friendly and knowledgeable approach. It's people that build trust in a brand, and the staff at their Alton branch did that for me. Reviewed on: 8th February 2023

Long term savings value

Newbury offer long term value. Can you find a slightly higher savings rate if you look hard enough… probably… but I know I will always get consistently good value from them over the longer term, like a relationship should be. Nothing hidden, no tricks. Reviewed on: 8th February 2023
