Really friendly, helpful staff and also easy to add funds by internet as well.

I met staff of Newbury Building Society at Abingdon Air Show and liked the sound of the account which I subsequently opened in branch. The service I received in branch was very good and the whole process was very smooth. Since then I have used internet access which again is very user-friendly (I'm not computer-savvy, so need simple systems!). Reviewed on: 4th January 2018

Opening an Instant Premium account at the Alton Branch, Hampshire.

We opened an account at the Alton branch of the Newbury Building Society that was handled by Caroline Seymow. Caroline was very helpful while taking us through the process, which she explained to us in a professional but friendly manner . This made the process very understandable as new customers. Good customer service and good products

I have experienced telephone and branch service recently and on all three occasions the staff were very helpful and friendly and gave good customer service. The only minor comment I would make is that the processes to support online banking are not fully digital yet. After opening an account online I still needed to take hard copy information to a branch to set up the ability to transfer money between my Newbury Building Society account and another bank account. Also after opening an additional joint account in branch, I had to go through a separate validation process to be able to view that account online in addition to my existing Newbury Building Society account that was opened online. Both were minor issues and easily resolved and now that everything is fully up and running, the system is very easy to use. I'm very pleased I chose to save with this company. Great efficient service

Great service when I came to pay into an existing account and open a new one as well. I was taken through the relevant information and my account opened quickly and easily. I have always had great service from the Thatcham Branch over the last 10 years. Reviewed on: 21st May 2021

Transferred funds from Notice Account to new ISA

The process of moving funds to open a new ISA Easy Access Account was made to be be very straight forward by the help of the the assistant. Each step was explained clearly and was completed efficiently. The documents I received detailing the account are most helpful. Reviewed on: 14th May 2021

Excellent service

After looking for a better savings account for our money. I looked at the Newbury, being a local business. I was pleased to find the welcome to Newbury account. After downloading and filling in the application forms, I went to the Abingdon branch to open my account. I found Samantha very helpful, and friendly. Made to feel welcome........

Opened a new ‘welcome to Newbury’ account. Phoned the local Winchester branch with a query. Very helpful and friendly member of staff assisted. Easy process to open new account and very quick too! Would definitely recommend Newbury! Reviewed on: 14th May 2021

Great customer service but a little tedious to set up

I thought the set up process for my account was a little tedious compared to other providers. With those that I have used before, everything can be set up online in one session whereas with Newbury it was 2 or 3 sessions with postal confirmations in-between. The worst bit was waiting to set up your linked account. A message had to be sent asking for it to be done instead of simply actioning it online. Having said that, the customer service on the occasions that I had to make enquiries, was first class with little waiting time and the account that I opened has great interest too. The information on your account is easy to view online. All in all, worthwhile opening an account and I would recommend Newbury as an investment provider. Reviewed on: 12th May 2021

I received excellent advice on the telephone of the current status of Newbury building society savings accounts by a very considerate and pleasant customer services employee at the Abingdon branch.
