Petplan is one of the most well-known pet insurers in the UK.

Petplan promise to never charge you more for claiming and they’ve created policies that cover some things other insurers don’t. You can get pet insurance for dogs, cats and rabbits. There’s also a multi-pet cover option.

Insurance for life

My young Sprocker has required both hips replacing, which clearly involved expensive surgery. Not only has Pet plan covered these cost, I was also informed that hydro therapy was covered in the aftercare.. Petplan may not be cheap; but cheap insurance that fails to cover adequately is not good value. Petplan is extremely good value Reviewed on: 26th July 2022

You can tell the vet "do what's necessary."

When you love your pet so much there can't be anything worse than knowing treatment is available for their illness, but you can't afford it. It's letting them down. But Petplan takes away any uncertainty and you can tell the vet to give any treatment necessary, confidently knowing that Petplan will help with the associated costs. I've insured my pets with them for nearly forty years and they've always been there when I've needed them. They're not a faceless organisation either, on the occasions I've had to call in to report a death or euthanasia I've been met with nothing but kindness and sympathy from the person at the end of the phone. My dog Murphy has had a few problems with his health and petplan services go above and beyond! Also they settle claims very quickly,which in itself is very helpful considering the price of vet bills would highly recommend to anyone who was unsure of pet insurance. Reviewed on: 26th July 2022

Peace of mind

PetPlan are an outstanding insurance company. It is so reassuring to know that your pet is covered for life for any illnesses etc. The fact that they are also trusted implicitly by vets practices speaks volumes and takes away yet another layer of concern away when claims need to be made. Our pug developed a liver shunt as a pup, and our claim was handled with empathy and efficiency. They aren't the cheapest, but they're certainly the best! Reviewed on: 26th July 2022
