Tired stressed and confused

I chose Sainsbury's for my car insurance as it was the best option for my needs, but how I was so wrong. After someone drove into the back of my car I contacted them. The lady who drove into me asked that we went through insurance companies as she wouldn't be able to afford to replace bumpers on both cars. I phoned Sainsbury's to get the ball rolling and this has been a battle since day one. I was advised to take my car to a garage to get work assessed and did so straight away. 3 days later I was told that my car was a right off even though it was a cracked bumper, they told me I had to phone zenith to talk about next steps. Zenith then told me that it wasn't a right off and I had to send pictures of the damage to them, so I did. To be told another 5 days later it was a right off. They gave me the option of buying back the car, and because it has been in the family since new I decided that it would be the best option for me. I was then told by Sainsbury's that I needed to get another mot on the car and a engineers report to say it was fit for the road. Sainsbury's then paid me out, I had the work carried out on the car and got both MOT and engineers report which in total cost £450 including respray. As my insurance was just about to end I got an email from them the day before renewal saying I had to phone them to discuss my insurance. So I phoned again to be told that my car is regarded as a catagory s right off I can only get 3rd party insurance, I was not told before because if it had been brought up I would have gotten rid of the car. They then told me that they wouldn't insure me, which I wasn't to bothered about after been messed around with. Then after a frustrating call to be told that my no claims had been taken from me so trying to insure my car with other companies and they will only do 3rd party and it has doubled in price. I'm really not Happy. The lady who drove into me took responsibility for the accident, and I'm getting penalize for it. They said once the forms are filled in they will release my no claims but that can take up to 48 weeks. So now I'm stuck with a car that I can't insure because of the price. The crazy thing about it is if I hadn't contacted them I would have been driving with no insurance as they didn't inform me that I wasn't insured. I spent 5 and a half hours on hold on the first day trying to sort out what was happening with my car and some of the staff couldn't even find my policy. The amount of time I have spent phoning between Sainsbury's and zenith who is Sainsbury's underwriter is unbelievable, if you don't phone them nothing happens. I'm sorry Sainsbury's but I shop in your stores and I expect a standard but your car insurance solution is giving you a bad reputation. I would not recommend car insurance with you. Poor service

Swapped policy from lv to Sainsburys car insurance. All went well , until I received a email saying car insurance would be cancelled unless I could confirm my no claims. I had uploaded information which my previous insurance said would be ok . So I rang them up eventually spoke to someone. I downloaded more information about no claims and cancelled policy. But every time I did this . He had to ask someone else if they would except it . Gave in asked for manager /make a complaint. May as well have talked to the wall . Extremely poor service . Had to ring my old insurance lv who were extremely helpful. Going back to lv insurance. Sainsburys car insurance service is non existent.Don’t bother.(Imagine if you had to make a claim ) sooo frustrating. Reviewed on: 24th August 2023

I recently took put car insurance with them I received a letter 14 days after date, advising me I needed to contact them. I tried several times could not get through, i went on their portal to update the details they required . I then received my updated policy documents on the portal . Thinking all was well ,till I suddenly received a refund without any notice. I tried again to call unable to get through to query if the refund was an error . A few days later a letter arrived 2 weeks late telling me they cancelled th policy because I hadn't disclosed what was requested (which I did online) Do not use very poor customer service Reviewed on: 19th August 2023

SAINSBURYS MOTOR INSURANCE

I do not think they want more business regarding motor insurance. My renewal is due first week in September (only 16 days away) they do not send out renewal invitations in good time (not got one yet) If I go on line it says it will expire at the renewal date. I can not renew because I do not have the auto renewal box checked. (it says telephone to renew). When you do they never answer the phone. But not to worry I have changed my motor insurance to another provider from renewal date. I intend to change my Home Insurance from Sainsburys to a more helpful provider to when its due! I wanted to cancel my auto renewal- system online would not action- phoned the 'helpline' over 20 times over 2 days- no reply- just cuts you off- no option anywhere I can find to obtain help- This is the worst online insurance offering I have ever experience- My insurance advice for free- no £40 fee- do not use Sainsburys- stick to retail shopping. sainsburys motor insurance

Sainsburys motor insurance is a horrendous company to deal with. Staff give different answers to ongoing dispute - clearly need training properly. Rude, unhelpful, cut me off, don't adhere to GDPR standards and won't honour policy. Reviewed on: 5th August 2023

Charged for changing address

tried to change our address on the website for car insurance quoting us just over £28, thought I was doing it wrong so rang them, it is correct they charge you for changing your address !! We have changed our address with everyone and they are the only people who have charged us to do that, on the website it says you can do it free online, but when you ring they say it's an admin fee ? really ? £28 for change one address to another absolutely outrageous !!!!!!! Cancelling policy

Worst experience of my car insurance history. 49 calls to the number given and I was immediately cut off. One hold for over 1 hour. Spent a whole week trying to cancer. Eventually I Cancelled my direct debit then things began to move forward. After a bit of two and fro, logging a call back I was called immediately by an Extremely pleasant customer service agent. Policy now cancelled. Website and app all out of date and recorded Messages stating there is a high demand on a Monday……this is now Friday!!! I would avoid if you are trying to make changes that can’t be done on the app it’s a waste of your valuable time. Reviewed on: 28th July 2023
